Pet Aquamation

PET AQUAMATION PROCESS

Also called alkaline hydrolysis, water reduction, bio-cremation, green cremation, and flame-less cremation, aquamation is an emerging form of body care that is gentler to the environment. It has been around for decades and is also used in human cremation. More and more pet owners are learning about its benefits and embracing this sustainable, eco-friendly alternative.

WHY CHOOSE PET AQUAMATION?

  • Gentle & respectful process
  • Zero emissions – no harmful greenhouse gases
  • Low energy consumption
  • 1/10 the carbon footprint of flame-based cremation
  • 100% clean, disease, and pollutant-free
  • Cost is comparable to traditional cremation

HOW DOES AQUAMATION WORK?

Aquamation uses alkaline hydrolysis to accelerate the decomposition process that occurs in the soil naturally. Through gentle water flow, temperature, and alkalinity, your pet's remains are returned to their natural form in water. Similar to traditional cremation, the only solid remains are the mineral ash of the bones. The resulting ash is a light sage or white color, retaining more minerals and free from carbon discoloration. Due to the drying process, an additional day or two may be needed before cremains can be returned.

Aquamation generates a sterile, environmentally neutral liquid solution composed of amino acids, peptides, and sugars, which can be safely released onto the earth or discharged into the sewer system.

INDIVIDUAL PET AQUAMATION

Individual aquamation ensures that a pet’s cremains are returned to the family. Private chambers within the unit provide complete separation between individual pets.

COMMUNAL PET AQUAMATION

Communal aquamation means cremains will not be returned. Pets are placed together within the unit, and all cremains are respectfully combined.
